Who else loves this time of year?! 🥧
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There's nothing better than windows open with a breeze and the smell of fresh baked goods. We had so much fun baking this Leaf Crusted Apple Pie while #SafeAtHome with @ADTsecurity + its almost too pretty to eat . It didn't take long to create and the boys are pro leaf cutters by now I'm sure. Haha Growing up Baking with my Nana was something that brought me joy and still does to this day! I am so glad I get to carry that on with the boys and create memories with them that will last a lifetime. I hope you enjoy this Fall Apple Pie Recipe and have as much fun making this as we did!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀🥧 Baked Apple Pie Recipe:
◍8-10 Apples peeled, cored & sliced (we used Granny Smith + Fuji)⠀
◍ Leaf & Apple Cookie Cutter. I recommend cutting your leaves out first depending on the size of your cookie cutter. Also having extra hands in the kitchen helps!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
◍2 Pack Pie Crust (one on the bottom of your pie plate + one for your leaf cutouts) you can also make your own crust from scratch but was quickest with pre-made
◍Combine 1 Tsp Cinnamon/Sugar/Apple Pie Spice, Water, 1/4 cup Flour in your bowl with Sliced Apples
◍Sauce - 1/2 cup brown sugar, Tbsp. Water + Butter, 1/4 Tsp Salt ( cook on low until melted then slightly turn up heat ) add a splash of vanilla/milk + combine with your apples.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
◍ Pour Apple mixture in your pie plate & layer your Leaf cutouts on top (it doesn't have to be perfect) + Brush with Egg wash to help golden the Crust. Be sure to vent your pie! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
◍Bake at 400 for 55-60 minutes but be sure to keep an eye on it.
